Article Withdrawal Policy

The Journal of Life Science and Applied Research (JLSAR) is committed to providing high-quality articles and upholding the publication ethics to advance the intellectual agenda. We expect our authors to comply with the best practice of publication ethics as well as in the quality of their articles.

Some authors request the withdrawal of the manuscript from the publication process after submission. In some instances, the request for withdrawal is made within a few days after submission, however, many times the request is made very late, when the manuscript is only a few days away from publication in the journal. Withdrawing manuscripts from publication wastes valuable resources and a tremendous amount of effort is made in processing the manuscripts by the editors, reviewers, and the editorial staff.

Authors are requested to decide, the number of authors, the order of authors, and authorship contributions of a paper before submitting. Ideally, these should be decided even before beginning to write the manuscript.

To avoid withdrawal of a manuscript, we sincerely request the authors especially the corresponding author or the first author to address the following issues before submitting the manuscript for JLSAR:

  • Check thoroughly that the facts and data presented in the manuscripts are accurate and error-free.
  • The publisher and the author will equally enjoy other benefits of the published article in future works of their own, such as lectures, press releases, views in textbooks, and periodicals, and reprinting of the whole or a part of the published article.
  • Confirm that the data included in the manuscript are the author’s own work; authors are permitted by departmental and/or institutional policy to use the materials and resources as they have been used in the study; and if data and facts from any other person or sources are used, appropriate written permissions have been obtained.
  • Decide on the number of authors, the order of authors, and the authorship contributions of a paper before submitting the manuscript.
  • Before submitting the manuscript for publication, inform all the authors, and the name of the journal to which the manuscript is being submitted, and give them a copy of the final manuscript.
  • Confirm that all the authors agree on the specific journal to submit the manuscript for publication.
  • Submit the manuscript to only one journal for consideration for publication. Do not simultaneously submit the manuscript to more than one journal.
  • Pre-Publication Withdrawal – Manuscripts may be withdrawn within 10 days of Submission of Manuscript. Withdrawal Requests must be conveyed via email. Manuscript withdrawal will be permitted at any stage of publication only for the most compelling and unavoidable reasons.
  • Post-Publication Withdrawal – Manuscripts once published shall be removed or withdrawn only if there are any legal disputes or any copyright infringements
